I would advise businesses against trying to buy editorial coverage with advertising dollars. Sadly, it&#039;s becoming common practice for salespeople from publications to hint at (or sometimes offer outright) journalistic coverage to businesses in exchange for the placement of adverts. However, this practice is not ethical and under no circumstances should you approach a journalist with such an offer. 

The majority of journalists try to keep as far away as possible from the ad/sales/marketing department. That said, at some publications, journalists ARE told what to write about by the ad guys. It&#039;s usually apparent to readers that this is the case, and publications that do so run the risk of ruining their reputation.</description>
