The Irish Times Poetry Now Award 2010 Shortlist Announced
The Irish Times Poetry Now Award is presented annually to the author of the best single volume of poems published by an Irish poet in the previous year. The shortlist for the Irish Times Poetry Now Award 2010 is:
Ciaran Carson - On the Night Watch (Gallery Books)
Vona Groarke - Spindrift (Gallery Books)
Sinéad Morrissey - Through the Square Window (Carcanet)
Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin - The Sun-fish (Gallery Books)
Peter Sirr - The Thing Is (Gallery Books)
The winner will be announced in The Irish Times on Saturday 27th of March and an award ceremony will be held at the dlr Poetry Now Festival 2010 which runs from the 25th to 28th of March. The festival programme will be available on www.poetrynow.ie from mid February.

dlr Arts appoint team to write eight year Visual Arts Policy
Cliodhna Shaffrey, Claire Nidecker and Theresa Nanigian have been appointed by dlr Arts to write an eight year visual arts policy for the County. Cliodhna Shafffey is an independent curator, arts advisor and art writer with significant experience in developing arts policy at local level. Claire Nidecker is an arts advisor, educator and artist with prior experience in public arts development and project management. Theresa Nanigian is an artist with a business background.
