Pro Silva Ireland trip to Holland, June 09

The trip to Holland generously hosted by Pro Silva Holland was a very enjoyable social and fact-finding trip; for instance it was amazing to see the how Dutch forester's since the 1970s, have been creating permanent productive forests on reclaimed land.

Pro Silva Ireland members who went to Holland included small and large forest owners, forest managers, timber harvesters, ecologists and special guests, Joe Barry from the Irish Independant and two forestry students; all found much to learn and enjoy on the trip. The student reports will be posted on the website soon.

Jan Alexander, PSI Chair, has written an article on her blog which you might to read (you can also to subcribe to Jan's regular email posts on this site)
