Stop, Look, Listen dlr Youth Arts 2011

Location: The Grainstore, dlr's Youth Arts Facility, Cabinteely Park, Cabinteely, Dublin 18

STOP LOOK LISTEN focuses on creative work by young people from all over the county. The work is created by young people and is for young people.

There is a range of free live events and activities from gigs and screenings to workshops and exhibitions based in the Grainstore, dlr’s Youth Arts Facility in Cabinteely Park and also offsite in The Rec, Nutgrove’s Youth Centre.

Unfolding Narratives - Dundrum Open Exhibition 2011

Date: Friday 4th November to Tuesday 22nd November Location: Dundrum, Dublin 14

Dundrum Open Submission Exhibition 2011 is a contemporary art project that invites the public to explore Dundrum’s vision of and for itself. The exhibition will include work by artists Esther Breslin, Fiona Hallinan, David Lunney, Laura Macauley, Conor McGarrigle, Eoin O’Connor, Blaithín Quinn, Deirdre Morrissey + Catherine Ryan and is curated by Annette Moloney and Maeve Mulrennan.

Working across a number of diverse locations in Dundrum the exhibition includes new art work by nine artists who are living in, working in or originally from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County, including artists from Dundrum itself. As a common thread all the works contemplate ideas of identity, belonging and change and each artist’s practice is a unique and engaging investigation into contemporary life in Dundrum and beyond.

Venues include Dundrum County Council Offices, (rear Bank of Ireland, off Main Street); Dundrum Library, Upper Churchtown Road; The Mill Theatre, Dundrum Town Centre and Rosemount Family Resource Centre, 3 Waldemar Terrace. A number of free tours and events are planned as part of the exhibition; please visit the website for further details.

dlr Writers' Clinic

Date: Saturday 5th November, Saturday 19th November, Saturday 3rd December and Saturday 17th December
Time: 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Location: Deansgrange Library

dlr Writer-In-Residence, Chris Binchy, will be available to meet aspiring writers and to discuss their work with them individually. The meetings will take place in Deansgrange Library on Saturday afternoons between 2.00pm and 5.00pm.
