Born in Dublin, Michael Craig-Martin is one of the most influential artists of recent decades. He was a key figure for the YBA (Young British Artists) generation of artists, whom he taught in his capacity as tutor at Goldsmiths College of Art. In Alphabet, he has produced 26 screen-prints in which the letters of the alphabet are overlaid with everyday objects such as a book, a glass of water or an umbrella. In this series created in his signature style, Craig-Martin does not use a direct 'A is for Apple', 'B is for Ball'. Instead the relationship between the letter and the image is more ambiguous.

Printmaker Aoife Dwyer will be facilitating art workshops in response to the Michael Craig-Martin exhibition in the Concourse, County Hall.

Workshops for adults open to all ability levels are on Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th of July.

Childrens workshops are available on Saturday 10th and Sun 11th July.
