Dalkey Writers' Workshop launch new anthology

Date: Thursday 17th November

Location: The Queens, Dalkey

Dalkey Writers' Workshop will be launching their new Anthology 'Circle Time' in The Queens, Dalkey, on Thursday, November 17th from 6 - 9pm. This is their third anthology and follows on from the success of their previous publications. The new book, edited by Paul Perry, contains a mix of poetry and prose and includes a foreword from none other than Joseph O'Connor. The production of this anthology has been supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office.


Unfolding Narratives - Dundrum Open Exhibition 2011

Date: Friday 4th November to Tuesday 22nd November Location: Dundrum, Dublin 14

Tours & Events
Working across a number of diverse locations in Dundrum this exhibition includes new art projects by artists who are living in, working in or originally from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, including artists from Dundrum itself. The exhibition continues until 22nd November with a number of free tours and events taking place.

Tour and Tea
Síle O’Sullivan will guide you around the exhibition venues, the tour ends in The Mill Theatre with a cup of tea and coffee!
Starting Point: Dundrum County Council Offices (near the Luas)
Saturday 12th November: 10.30-11.45am and 12.30-13.45pm

Closing Time -Indoor Picnic Event -An Informal Discussion with Afternoon Tea
As part of the project artists Deirdre Morrissey and Catherine Ryan are inviting the public to join them for an informal discussion on the Dundrum Open Submission Exhibition. The event will take the shape of an Afternoon Tea with cakes and sandwiches. Titled "Closing Time" this Indoor Picnic event will take place at The Mill Theatre, Dundrum Town Centre on Saturday 19th November 2011 from 2 – 4pm. This is a free event and all are welcome. Call for applications: Mentoring Programme for Playwrights and Theatre Directors

Fishamble: The New Play Company and the Mill Theatre are delighted to announce details of a new Mentoring Programme for the professional development of playwrights and theatre directors. This scheme will run from February - November 2012 and is supported by a Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Arts Grant.

Daniel Figgis' ongoing romance with Marlay Park continues with a family-friendly, phantasmagoric new work THE BATTLE oF SPEEDS presented for one day only.

This glorious new show consists of six new short fantasy movies, each with a separate original orchestral soundtrack, composed by Figgis. The six movies will play concurrently on all available surfaces in the Orangery - four walls, floor and ceiling - totally immersing or 'suspending' the viewer in the multi-sensory experience.
