Sarmady signs with Effective Measure!Effective Measure continues to make significant progress in the Middle East with the recent long term signing of Sarmady.
Sarmady is an extensive Digital Network representing top Arabic websites like Filgoal, NBA and Contactcars. They represent 18 local sites and 8 non Egyptian sites in Eygpt. Sarmady has also recently signed a partnership with NetAdvantage whereby Sarmady represents NetAdvantage's sites in Egypt and NetAdvantage represents Sarmady's sites in the gulf.
Director of Sales and Marketing for Sarmady, Ashraf Maklad mentions "Our signing with Effective Measure was not only decided by the quality of their product but also because their team are so proactive with Publishers and Agencies alike that we believe by the end of 2010 they will be the Industry Standard in the region. Internet Users Are Young - Fact or Myth?Recently Appointed VP of Digital Insights for Effective Measure, Brendon Ogilvy, brought this up in the recent DigiMedia conference.
In the chart to the right is insight extracted from Effective Measure of the online demographics in the UAE. As you can see, over 50% of internet users in this country are over the age of 31.
This insight leads to the conclusion that the Internet attracts a wide range of age demographics (at least for more affluent countries). Brendon Ogilvy commented in his presentation 'For the UAE, it is fair to say that the demographic of users online is actually a close reflection of the total population. If anything these internet users have more disposable income than non-internet users'.

Category Focus - Business & FinanceThe Business & Finance section includes sites like InteractiveME, Trade Arabia and Mubasher with the largest sites in this category being Bayt.com, ArabianBusiness and UAEec.com. Looking at the demographics for the total category we find that:
- Over 64% are over the age of 31
- Over a quarter are earning an annual
household income of over USD $100,000.
- Over half live with their wife/partner
- Nearly a quarter of these people are parents.
- Half of the visitors to sites in these categories view the sites from work
- 40% being a Manager or Senior Official.
In terms of unique browsers, traffic generally peaks on a Monday or Tuesday, however for page views, this differs by week with peaks in April of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. What is interesting to note, is that the percentage of people accessing these sites from a mobile, peaks on the weekends.
